WHAT IS THE INITIAL CONSULTATION LIKE?

Our goal is to get to the root cause of your symptoms and fix them in the most natural way possible. For this reason, your initial consultation is between 60-90 minutes long. We begin by reviewing your medical history, diet, and fitness. Then we really focus on your symptoms, any changes you have been noticing and all your concerns. We will thoroughly explain how we diagnose and treat our patients. Based upon what you tell us, we will order very specific specialty testing. You will leave with a scheduled follow up appointment to review all your testing and develop a personalized treatment plan.

WHAT TYPE OF HORMONE TESTING DO YOU DO?

Depending upon your symptoms, we may offer a combination of both traditional as well as specialty functional testing. Many doctors will tell their patients that there is no specific way to test for hormone imbalance or may order just a few blood tests. Our staff is specialty trained in how to diagnose hormone imbalance through newer and effective testing including saliva, urine as well as blood. Based upon your symptoms, we will customize your testing.

MY DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT MY TESTOSTERONE LEVELS WERE IN RANGE BUT I STILL DON’T FEEL WELL. CAN YOU HELP ME?

The range for what is considered a “normal” testosterone level for men is very wide. While you can fall somewhere within that range, if you are noticing changes and symptoms, then that may not be the right “normal” range for you. While we still evaluate testosterone through testing, we also consider symptoms and changes a good indication that your levels may not be properly balanced.

HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO COME BACK AFTER I BEGIN MY TREATMENT PLAN?

Once you begin your treatment, we see you in about 3 months mark and then every 6 months thereafter. At each of these visits we will be updating testing to keep your treatment plan safe and effective.

DO YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?

Many patients are familiar with programs out there that require a monthly fee that adds up to quite an expensive yearly total. You only pay for individual office visits. We do not submit directly to any insurance but if you have either a health savings or flexible spending account, you can use that for your office visit. We also provide a submittable receipt that you can send in to your insurance for possible reimbursement. If you have an out of network benefit, there is a good chance you will be reimbursed for some of the consult fee. If you have insurance coverage, we will send you to your local lab just like you do with any doctor. The lab will bill your insurance for your testing. Please call our office with questions regarding cost for theinitial consult and a follow up visit.
